The Sickle Cell Association, Nagpur (SCAN) was first set up as a registered charity in 2004. It was formed by a group of doctors, patients, social workers and health professionals who had innate concern about sickle cell disorders.
Our Charitable Trust is managed by a committee of 11 Trustees and a pool of stalwarts in various fields. The Management Committee is accountable to the members and works with a small core of paid staff to further the Society’s aims by providing special services and welfare schemes for sickle cell sufferers.
SCAN has always thrived to provide quality and comprehensive services through diagnostic testing, evaluation, counseling and supportive services to individuals and families at risk for Sickle Cell Disease and its variants.
