Sickle cell association Nagpur along with Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision Paryawaran Pratham, Global shapers, chip foundation Metropolitan institute, Vidarbha Association of Pathologist & Microbiologist,Gandhian Thought Department, Sarpanch Nanda Grampanchayat & sarpanch Dahegaon Grampanchayat members & family & close friends, undertook a unique project of Making Kolar River Plastic Free
Enthusiasm was at its peak when members both seniors & juniors started with collction of Plastic in all forms cups & glasses , bottles, bags small & large , plates etc from Ghat on Nandaside & River on Dahegaon side . Total big gunnybags around 20 in number were collected
Civic & social apathy with loitering of Religious & plastic mateeial by All those who come for immersion of Ashes is seen
Kolar River is considered as Ganges of vidarbha and people come to this place with lot of faith . Utilization of River Bed for ashes immersion without Administrative control has led to present Neglect of the River Evosystem, Environment in & around the River with loss of Flora & Fauna & birds and occasional wild dogs & foxes
Let us bring back the lost Glory and therefore a suggestion that was agreed upon unanimously was put forth as following
1-Installation of Dustbins
2 - Regular pick up of waste garbage
3-Opening of Toilets with minimum fees to be charged
Regular sweeper to be present
4-River bed to be cleand & silt removed & sold
5- Tree plantation for beautification

RCNV also gave away free medicines to less privileged of the village . The medicines were sponsored by Rtn Jai Tekchandani. We are grateful for his noble support .
A yummy authentic breakfast and lunch for one and all was a sumptuous Birthday treat sponsored by our hero Shrikhande Ma’am . It was a morning to be treasured for one and all present there .
